S100A4

[S100 calcium binding protein A4] This is a calcium-binding protein related to the S100 family of proteins. It is known also as a growth-related protein, CAPL [calcium placental protein] (Dorin et al, 1990), isolated by Jackson-Grusby et al (1987) from mouse placenta. The protein has been described also as the Calvasculin, metastasin, 18A2, 42A, P9Ka, pEL98, FSP-1 [fibroblast secretory protein-1]. The calcium-binding properties of the protein have been studied by Dukhanina et al (1997).
