[immunoglobulin-like transcript 6] The cDNA encoding this protein has been cloned by Colonna et al (1997). The same gene has been cloned by Arm et al (1997), who called it HM43. Borges et al (1997) have cloned the same gene, which they called LIR4.

The protein is an inhibitory receptor for MHC class I molecules on human lymphoid cells and myelomonocytic cells.

In the nomenclature of CD antigens this protein has been given the designation CD85e (see: CD85).
