CD85

[CD85(+), CD85(-)]

CD85 constitutes a family of related receptors, which, in the nomenclature of CD antigens, are distinguished by the addition of a letter suffix (André et al, 2001). The CD85 antigen has received the designation CD85j (see below). CD85 was defined originally as an antigen recognized by monoclonal antibodies VMP55 and GHI/75. Banham et al (1999) have shown that the antigen defined by these antigens is the same as LILRB1 (HGNC nomenclature). For earlier CD antigen assignment see also: Engel and Tedder, 1994)

All proteins belonging to the CD85 family are Ig-like immunoreceptors and have been described by various authors either as ILT receptors or LIR receptors. Some receptors appear to be expressed by all lymphoid cells and ... ... ... ... ... Subscribe to continue reading! ... ...
