SSI1

[STAT induced STAT inhibitor-1] This protein is related to CIS (Cytokine inducible SH2-containing protein), SOCS (suppressor of cytokine signaling), and JAB (JAK binding protein). SSI1 is identical with SOCS1 and JAB. The related gene, SSI3, isolated by Minamoto et al (1997) from a Jurkat cell cDNA library, is identical with SOCS3 and CIS3. Minamoto et al (1997) also isolated another related gene, SSI2.
