Sertoli cell factor is secreted by rat Sertoli cells. It is identical with one of the molecular forms of Inhibins.
Another biochemically uncharacterized factor of the same name (> 10 kDa) found in conditioned medium of Sertoli cells influences steroidogenesis in Leydig cells. Its production by Sertoli cells in culture is stimulated by follicle-stimulating hormone, dibutyryl-cAMP, L-isoproterenol and glucagon
