abbr. MDGF (a term with multiple meanings). These factors are called also macrophage-derived fibroblast growth factor. MDGF is a collective term for some factors secreted by macrophages after cell activation, which stimulate the proliferation of fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells and endothelial cells. Some MDGF activities are probably identical with those called AMDGF (alveolar macrophage-derived growth factor).
