[immunoglobulin-like transcript 3] The cDNA encoding a member of the Ig superfamily containing 3 ITIM sequence motifs has been cloned by Cella et al (1997). The same gene has been cloned by Arm et al (1997) who called it HM18. Borges et al (1997) have cloned the same gene, which they called LIR5. The protein has been renamed LILRB4 [leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor subfamily B member 4] and, in the nomenclature of CD antigens has received the designation CD85k (see: CD85).
