CEPU-1, a 51 kDa protein that is expressed strongly in developing cerebellar Purkinje cells (hence the abbreviation) and is detectable on the dendrites, somata, and axons of these cells (Spaltmann and Brummendorf, 1995). CEPU-1 displays high sequence similarity to other members of the IgLON family and is considered to be the chicken counterpart of Neurotrimin (see also: GP55). The protein forms complexes with other members of the IgLON family, termed Diglons (see: IgLON).
CEPUS appears to be the secreted counterpart of CEPU-1 (Kim et al, 1999). CEPU-Se-A
