[BCL2-associated transcription factor] The approved gene symbol for the human factor is BCLAF1 [BCL2-associated transcription factor 1]. The cDNA has been cloned independently as KIAA0164.
Btf has been identified in a yeast two-hybrid system as a protein that interacts with Adenovirus E1B 19 kDa protein and with the anti-apoptotic proteins BCL2 and BCLxL. Btf does not interact with the pro-apoptotic protein BAX (Kasof et al, 1999).
