AcPL

[accessory protein-like subunit] This protein is a member of the IL1 receptor family but it does not seem to play a role in IL1 signaling (Born et al, 1998). AcPL alone does not bind IL18. The protein is identical with IL18 receptor accessory protein, IL18RAP, and cooperates with IL1RP1 [IL1-related protein-1] to effect IL18 signaling. In the nomenclature of CD antigens this protein has been given the designation CDw218b.
