[IL1-related protein-1] The gene lacks a conventional hydrophobic signal sequence. The encoded protein is related to IL1ra (Busfield et al, 2000). The same gene has been described by other authors as FIL1-zeta and IL1H4.

Expression of the gene appears to be restricted to various epithelial cell populations.
