kenpaullone

(9-Bromo-7,12-dihydro-indolo[3,2-d][1]benzazepin-6(5H)-one) Kenpaullone has been shown to be an inhibitor of cyclin-dependent kinase (cyclin A and cyclin B) (Zaharevitz DW et al, 1999) and GSK3-alpha (glycogen synthase kinase-3-alpha) (Cole et al, 2004). Lyssiotis et al (2009) have identifed kenpaullone as a compound that can functionally replace the reprogramming factor KLF4 during reprogramming of somatic cells into cells with stem cell characteristics. This compound activates the expression of NANOG in mouse fibroblasts transduced with a subset of reprogramming factors lacking KLF4. Kenpaullone, in lieu of KLF4 gives rise to ... ... ... ... ...
