(9-Bromo-7,12-dihydro-indolo[3,2-d][1]benzazepin-6(5H)-one) Kenpaullone has been shown to be an inhibitor of cyclin-dependent kinase (cyclin A and cyclin B) (Zaharevitz DW et al, 1999) and GSK3-alpha (glycogen synthase kinase-3-alpha) (Cole et al, 2004). Lyssiotis et al (2009) have identifed kenpaullone as a compound that can functionally replace the reprogramming factor KLF4 during reprogramming of somatic cells into cells with stem cell characteristics.
