gene symbol: htl. heartless, encoded by gene CG7223, is a Drosophila melanogaster ortholog of the FGF receptor (DFGFR2; DFR1), which is expressed in the embryonic mesoderm and is required for the development of several mesodermal lineages (Wilson and Leptin, 2001).
