[collagen-14; type 14 collagen] Approved gene symbol: COL14A1 [collagen-14-alpha-1]. Nakagawa et al (1999) have isolated a factor of 16 kDa from the homogenate of rat granulation tissues that is chemotactic for neutrophils. The sequence contains a fibronectin type 3 domain and an adjacent heparin binding site and is almost identical with the corresponding sequence of human collagen type 14. The protein has been identified independently as undulin.
