This peptide [Trp-Lys-Tyr-Met-Val-d-Metamide] has been selected from random peptide libraries on the basis of its ability to stimulate phosphoinositide hydrolysis in lymphocytes (Baek et al, 1996; Seo et al, 1997). The peptide has been identified as an agonist that activates cells through FPRL1 and FPRL2 (Christophe et al, 2001; Christophe et al, 2002). Like MMK-1 and WKYMVm, the compound is used widely as an agonist to study formyl peptide receptors.
