This antigen is expressed on approximately 25 % of peripheral blood T-cells. Antibodies directed against this antigen cause antigen-independent cell activation of T-cells in the presence of accessory cells or phorbol esters (Fox et al, 1990). The new designation for this antigen is CD60 and formerly was CDw60.
