RHG

(acronym derived from the names of three Drosophila melanogaster cell death activator proteins, Reaper, Hid, Grim; these proteins are also being referred to as RHG proteins). This sequence motif comprises 14 amino acids common at the N-terminus of the three Drosophila melanogaster proteins. This motif is involved in the interaction of these proteins with the BIR domains of IAP (inhibitor of apoptosis) proteins (Wu et al, 2001). The RHG domain is sufficient to mediate a killing effect but is not necessary for the killing mediated by Reaper and Grim.
