[Pyrin-containing APAF-1-like protein 7] The approved gene symbol for this protein is NLRP12 [NLR family, pyrin-domain containing 12].
This protein is a member of a protein family characterised by the presence of a Pyrin domain, a nucleotide binding site (see also: NACHT domain; CLR family), and a leucine-rich repeat motif (LRR). The gene encoding PYPAF7 has been cloned by Wang et al (2002), who demonstrated expression in peripheral blood leukocytes (predominantly in eosinophils, granulocytes, and lower expression in monocytes
