[PDZ domain-containing protein 2] This protein is a ubiquitously expressed protein with 6 PDZ domains. Human PDZD2 contains 2,642 amino acids (280 kDa) (Chaib et al, 2001). The cDNA has been cloned independently as KIAA0300.
Deguchi et al (2000) have cloned rat PDZD2, which they designated PAPIN [plakophilin-related armadillo repeat protein-interacting PDZ protein]. PAPIN is expressed ubiquitously in various tissues and is localized at cell-cell junctions in normal rat kidney cells and bronchial epithelial cells. The authors have suggested that PAPIN
