OLFML2B

[Olfactomedin-like protein 2B] This protein is a member of a protein family known as Olfactomedins and has been identified originally as a secreted glycoprotein in mice, termed Photomedin-2 by Furutani Y et al (2005). OLFML2B is present in ganglion cells and inner nuclear layers, the inner segment of photoreceptor layer, and Retinal pigment epithelium cells. The protein has been shown to bind chondroitin sulphate-E and heparin in the extracellular matrix. Pérez-Ibave DC et al (2016) have reported expression of OLFML2B in all retinal neurons in baboons.
