[Natural killer cell p30-related protein] This receptor, termed also NCR3 [natural cytotoxicity receptor 3] (approved gene symbol), has been identified by Pende et al (1999). Pende et al (1999) have reported that NKp30 is encoded by the 1C7 gene. In the nomenclature of CD antigens this protein has been given the designation CD337 (Warren, 2005).
The receptor exists in multiple splice variants and is generally regarded as an activating receptor. It exists in multiple splice variants, and some of these are inhibitory rather than activating receptors (for overview see: Shemesh et al, 2018).
