NCK

[NCK adaptor protein] NCK is an adapter protein identified originally as a melanoma cDNA encoding a cytoplasmic protein consisting exclusively of SH3 and SH2 sequence domains (Lehmann et al, 1990). Chen et al (1998) have identified two different Nck gene in humans and mice, termed Nckalpha and Nckbeta. Nckalpha (chromosome 3q21) and Nckbeta (chromosome 2q12) share 68 % amino acid identity, whereas the two Nckalpha and two Nckbeta across the species show 96% identity to each other.
