N51

A secretory protein produced by mouse fibroblasts after stimulation with serum, PDGF, or Bombesin. N51 expression is not induced by EGF, FGF, or the tumor promoter 12-O-tetradecanoyl-phorbol-13-acetate (see also: Phorbol esters) (Ryseck et al, 1989). The protein belongs to the family of chemotactic cytokines known as Chemokines. It is known also as KC. In databanks the protein is being referred to also as fsp [fibroblast secretory protein], which is an alternative designation for N51.
