Monad
This human protein has been identified by Saeki et al (2006). The protein contains two WD40 domains. The approved gene symbol is WDR92 [WD repeat-containing protein 92].
Monad is expressed widely in human tissues (heart, kidney, thymus, placenta, pancreas, skeletal muscle, brain) with the highest expression in testis. Overexpression of Monad in HEK293 cells potentiates cell death by apoptosis and caspase-3 activation induced by TNF-alpha and cycloheximide.
