[Lymnaea cardioexcitatory peptide] LyCEP is an RFamide-type decapeptide (TPHWRPQGRFamide) isolated from the brain of the mollusk cLymnaea stagnalis (Tensen et al, 1998). It shows significant similarity to ACEP-1 [Achatina cardioexcitatory peptide-1] from the evolutionary distant snail Achatina fulica and to members of the family of mammalian prolactin-releasing peptides.
