Ly-C

This older designation for an alloantigen expressed on thymocytes and lymphocytes (Boyse et al, 1971) has been replaced by the designation Ly3 [lymphocyte antigen 3], which, in turn, is also an obsolete designation for the membrane glycoprotein, the CD antigen CD8. The murine Ly3 cDNA has been cloned by Panaccio et al (1987).
