LTBP1
[latent TGF-beta binding protein-1] LTBP1 is one of four extracellular matrix glycoproteins complexing TGF-beta isoforms in a latent form that allows targeting and activation of this growth factor (see also: LTBP2, LTBP3, LTBP4) (Oklu and Hesketh, 2000).
The protein has 16 copies of an EGF-like repeat and 3 copies of an 8-cysteine motif and is being referred to also as TGF-beta-1-BP-1 [TGF-beta-1-binding protein 1] (Kanzaki et al (1990). Alternative splicing of murine and human LTBP1 yields a short form, LTBP1S, and a long form, LTBP1L
