[leukemic blast growth factor] This factor is found in conditioned medium of the human bladder carcinoma cell line HTB-9 (see: 5637 cell line). It supports the proliferation of leukemic blast cells. The factor is probably identical with GM-CSF which is secreted also in high amounts by these cells.
Another factors with LBGF activity has been found in conditioned medium of leukocytes stimulated with phytohemagglutinin. It supports colony formation (see: Colony formation assay) of a subpopulation of circulating blast cells from the peripheral blood of acute
