IL2RB
[interleukin-2 receptor-beta; IL2R-beta; IL2 receptor-beta] This is the approved gene symbol for a subunit of the IL2 receptor, which, together with IL2RA, forms the high affinity IL2 receptor (Gnarra et al, 1990). In the nomenclature of CD antigens this protein has been given the designation CD122.
The beta chain by itself constitutes an intermediate affinity form of the receptor (Gnarra et al, 1990). Coexpression of the IL2RB and IL2RA genes results in the high affinity form of the receptor (Hatakeyama et al, 1989).
