[FLICE-associated huge protein] The protein has been renamed Caspase-8-associated protein 2 (abbr. CASP8AP2), which is also the approved gene symbol. It is homologous to Caenorhabditis elegans CED4. The cDNA encoding FLASH has been identified independently as KIAA1315. The human protein has been reported in databanks as RIP25 (direct submission, accession number AF164678).
