[eosinophil cationic protein] The new name of this protein is ribonuclease A family 3 (RNASE3 or RNS3 (ribonuclease 3). In rats and mice the protein has been described also as EAR [eosinophil-associated ribonuclease] or EAR-1 [eosinophil-associated ribonuclease-1] (Nittoh et al, 1997, 1998).
