ECFSTA

[Glu-Cys-Phe-Ser-Thr-Ala] This peptide has been extracted from wheat germ globulin. ECFSTA might act as a food hormone. It enhances phagocytosis of RAW 264.7 macrophages and significantly increases their secretion of nitric oxide, IL6, TNF-alpha, and reactive oxygen species. ECFSTA causes cell activation in macrophages mainly through the pattern recognition receptors TLR2 and TLR4.
