EBM11
name of a monoclonal antibody raised against isolated human lung macrophages (Kelly et al, 1988). EBM11 recognizes the cell surface antigen CD68 on macrophages (Micklem et al, 1989).
The antibody reacts with blood monocytes and mononuclear cells thought to be macrophages from different tissues (lung, skin, stomach, small and large bowel, heart, thyroid, pancreas spleen, tosnil, placenta, liver, gall bladder, brain, peritubular renal cells, mesangial cells). The antibody also reacts with brain microglial cells and osteoclasts.
