[dendritic cell lectin] This type 2 membrane glycoprotein of 213 amino acids belongs to the human calcium-dependent (C-type) lectin family and has been identified by Arce et al (2001). It is expressed preferentially in monocyte-derived dendritic cells. The gene has been identified independently as BDCA2 [Blood dendritic cell antigen 2].

In the nomenclature of CD antigens this protein has been given the designation CD303.
