CD72 is a 45 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein found as a cell surface antigen on lymphocytes. In peripheral blood and bone marrow, the antigen appears to be present on all B-lymphocytes, with the exception of plasma cells (Wu and Bondada, 2002). All B-cell compartments in tissues express CD72. Pulpa macrophages of the spleen and Kupffer cells also express CD72. (Schwarting et al, 1992).
