[CD72(+), CD72(-)]

CD72 is a 45 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein found as a cell surface antigen on lymphocytes. In peripheral blood and bone marrow, the antigen appears to be present on all B-lymphocytes, with the exception of plasma cells (Wu and Bondada, 2002). All B-cell compartments in tissues express CD72. Pulpa macrophages of the spleen and Kupffer cells also express CD72. (Schwarting et al, 1992). Robinson et al (1997) have reported expression of CD72 in a subset of T-cells. The mouse homolog of human CD72 is called Lyb2 (Von Hoegen et al, 1991) or Ly19 (Lai et al, 1998).
