[CD110(+), CD110(-)]
A designation for the thrombopoietin receptor encoded by the MPL gene (MPL is the approved gene symbol; see also: MPLV). The receptor is sometimes being referred to also as TPOR (TPO being an abbreviation of thrombopoietin).
The antigen is expressed on hematopoietic stem cells and progenitor cells, megakaryocytes and their progenitors, and platelets.
Gao W et al (2013) have identified CD110 as a cell surface marker of migrating cancer stem cells from human colorectal tumors that metastasize to liver and lung. Functional studies show that
