abbr. Bim. This biochemically uncharacterized heat-stable protein of 12.7 kDa has been isolated from the conditioned medium of cultured mouse bone marrow cells.
The protein shows anti-implantation and anti-tumor activities. Administration of the factor improves immunocompetence in vivo, stimulating the activity of macrophages, T-cells, B-cells, and the phagocytic activity of neutrophils (Ghoshal et al, 1998, 1994). The factor also modulates the activity of Na-K ATPase and Ca-Mg ATPase.
