[B151 T-cell replacing factor] This factor is secreted constitutively into the conditioned medium of the murine T-cell hybridoma B151K12. It known also as B15-TRF, and B151K12 TRF.
B151-TRF induces the synthesis of IgM in the leukemic B-cell line BCL1. The factor functions as a B-cell growth and differentiation factor; it has a biological activity ascribed previously to BCGF-2 [B-cell growth factor-2] and is identical with IL5 (for some aspects of nomenclature see also: T-cell replacing factors; for some personal views of problems associated with nomenclature see also:
