Name of a DNA clone encoding a gene expressed after cell activation of T-cells with various mitogens (Zipfel et al, 1989; Obaru et al, 1986). Irving et al (1990) have determined the genomic structure. The cDNA encodes human MIP-1-beta. See: MIP (macrophage inflammatory protein).
The factor is known also as SCYA4. The approved gene symbol is CCL4. The gene is present as an additional copy, referred to as 744.2.
