An early response gene the transcription of which in fibroblasts is rapidly and transiently stimulated by serum growth factors (Charles et al, 1992). Expression is increased up to 40-fold in fibroblasts exposed to oxidative/heat stress and growth factors.
3CH134 encodes a protein of 367 amino acids with the activity of a tyrosine phosphatase (Charles et al, 1993).
Mouse 3CH134 is a homolog of human CL100. These genes are related closely to erp (externally regulated phosphatase) and Vaccinia virus protein phosphatase VH1. The rat homolog of 3CH134 has been identified as
