[proline-rich induced protein 92] This protein of 221 amino acids is encoded by an early response gene the expression of which is induced rapidly in 3T3 fibroblasts stimulated by serum or treated with the tumor promoter 12-O-tetradecanoyl-phorbol-13-acetate (Charles et al, 1990). The approved gene symbol is IER2 [Immediate early response gene 2].
