[heat shock protein 100] This heat shock protein has been purified from mouse lymphoma cells (Koyasu et al, 1989). Amino acid sequences are completely or nearly identical with those of mouse endoplasmic reticulum protein, ERp99, hamster glucose-regulated protein 94, and chicken heat shock protein hsp108. hsp100 binds to actin filaments. Calmodulin inhibits the binding in a Ca2+-dependent manner. hsp100 competes with hsp90 for binding to actin filaments.
