An aberrant shape form of erythrocytes observed in some cases of hemolytic anemia associated with chemotherapy. Bite cells are cells from which one or more semicircular portions have been removed from the cell margin. These cells disappear when the drugs are withdrawn (Yoo and Less, 1992; Ward et al, 1983).
