XG-1
A human myeloma cell line developed together with several other cell lines from tumor samples harvested from patients with extramedullary proliferation. XG-1 cells have a plasma cell morphology. They express cytoplasmic immunoglobulins, CD38, B-B4 antigen, and CD77, CD28, CD28 ligand, B7 antigen and a variety of adhesion molecules.
The growth of XG-1 cells depends on IL6. It has been shown that GM-CSF stimulates IL6 responsiveness. GM-CSF does not induce any IL6 production in XG-1 cells
