Wag31
This protein, termed also Rv2145c, is a conserved protein encoded by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Wag31 is an ortholog of the eubacterial cell division protein DivIVA and regulates growth, morphology and polar cell wall synthesis in mycobacteria (Kang et al, 2008). The protein is known also as Ag84 [antigen 84] (Nguyen et al, 2007).
Cao et al (2008) have reported that Wag31 binds to the chemokine XCL2. Wag31 also specifically stimulates XCL2 expression in macrophages.
