WT1-pTj peptide
This peptide, KDCERRFSRSDQLKRHQRRHTGVKPFQ, is derived from the WT1 [Wilms tumor protein 1], a transcription factor that has been associated in malignant melanoma with cell survival and metastasis. The sequence corresponds to amino acids 349-375 of the human WT1 protein (WT1(349-375)).
This lysine-arginine rich peptide functions as a cell-penetrating peptide. Massaoka et al (2014) have reported that the peptide quickly penetrates human melanoma cells and induces senescence, enhances transcriptional activity of the p53 oncoprotein
