VACP1
[venom anti-cancer peptide 1] This peptide, AQKWLKYWKADKVKGFGRKIKKIWFG, with activity of an anticancer peptide has been isolated from the wasp venom of Vespa ducalis SMITH (Wu R et al, 2018). VACP1 has been shown to inhibit proliferation of MG-63, U-2 OS and Saos-2 osteosarcoma cells through induction of cell death by apoptosis. FVACP1 increases levels of cleaved PARP [poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase], and caspase-3, but decreases BCL2 expression.
