UG3
A human monoblastic cell line expressing AF9-MLL and MLL-AF9 fusion transcripts arising from the t(9;11)(p22;q23) translocation. The cells are dependent on the presence of exogenous growth factors for viability and proliferation, such as IL3, GM-CSF, G-CSF, or M-CSF.
G-CSF leads to cell differentiation along the granulocytic lineage (see also: hematopoiesis). GM-CSF or M-CSF cause differentiation into mature macrophages with preservation of cell surface expression of CD14 and CD68
