Tristetraprolin
The designation tristetraprolin refers to the observation that the protein contains three repeats with four consecutive proline residues in each repeat (Lai et al, 1990). TTP is a member of the CCCH tandem zinc finger protein family. Other members are BRF1 [Butyrate response factor 1] (zfp36L1), BRF2 [Butyrate response factor 2] (zfp36L2), and zfp36L3 (Blackshear, 2002; Blackshear et al, 2005).
