zfp36L3

[Zinc finger protein 36 C3H1 type-like 3] zfp36L3 is a member of the CCCH tandem zinc finger protein family. Other members are TTP [tristetraprolin, BRF1 [Butyrate response factor 1] (zfp36L1), and BRF2 [Butyrate response factor 2] (zfp36L2). Members of this family bind directly to AU-rich elements in mRNA and destabilize transcripts.

Mouse zfp36L3 has been shown to be expressed in placenta and extraembryonic tissues during embryonic development (Blackshear et al, 2005). Unlike the other family members, the expression of zfp36L3 appears to be entirely cytoplasmic (Frederick et al, 2008). A similar gene exists in rats ... ... ... ... ...
